■About the work
The motif of this painting is the solitary pine tree in Takada Matsubara, which has become a symbol of recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake.
The flowing water in the background is taken from Sakai Hōitsu's Summer and Autumn Grasses Screen.
Since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, the harmony between humans and nature, as represented by water and plants, has become an important motif in my paintings.
