■About the work
The original canvas painting was created as a live painting at the Yoshiyasu Tamura solo exhibition at Shinjuku Takashimaya, where Miyako, who became a hot topic in 2017 for her boldly painted skin make-up look, was asked to model. The flames in the background are of a firebird called Garuda, modeled after the national treasure "Blue Fudo" at Shoren-in Temple in Kyoto.
It was painted as a modern-day incantation and prayer, with the esoteric Buddhist rituals using statues of Acala, which became popular in Japan from the 10th century onwards during the late Heian period, in mind.
It passed through KYAS ART SALON in the Netherlands and is now in the possession of a collector in Indonesia (2024).
