■About the work Based on the anecdote that Hokusai painted a picture on a grain of rice immediately after painting a huge painting, I created a very small canvas and painted on it immediately after painting my large 150-size work.
By surrounding the painting with a deliberately huge, glaring frame, the piece also conveys a satire of authoritarianism that is reminiscent of Hokusai's perspective.
