■About the work
This painting is based on the Kabuki play "Yoshitsune and the Thousand Cherry Blossoms."
The most important item in the story is the "Hatsune drum," and the story of the mother and child fox who were the material used to make the drum is depicted in a painting of a woman listening to the first sound of the year, the nightingale's song.
Fox ears and a tail are drawn on the head, and a drum is drawn on the kimono.
The ground pattern of the kimono and obi is covered with an image of "Hatsune" taken from the Genjiko incense ceremony, and the square decoration on the hairpin and the green hair are taken from "Hatsune Miku", with each element being a representation of "Hatsune".
